     I can't thank you enough for being here, Rescue Me. Giving up Blue was the hardest decision I've ever made, and I'm not sure how I would have done it without Rescue Me. You provided me with a way to reach out to other people who understand Great Danes. It takes a special person to love that much dog. And there's no judgement here, unlike other sites I saw. Nobody trying to make you feel bad for your decision. I'd had Blue since he was six weeks old, and the last thing I ever wanted to do was lose him, but I moved here from Arizona and instead of the 40+ acres he was used to, we were sleeping in the back of a truck. Now, he is happy again, with the room he needs, so thank you Rescue Me.

     Thank you so very much Rescue Me, for helping me with one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, and doing it without judging me for my choices. I got my Blue when he was six weeks old, and he was with me ever since. The only thing worse than giving him up was watching him try to cope with moving from 40+ acres in Arizona, to living in the back of a truck with me in Oregon. This was the best, and only option I was willing to consider. Instead of putting him up on Craigslist or Facebook, where people spend more time criticizing you for giving up your 'pet' (family member), I was able to connect with people who were familiar with Great Danes, and knew what they would be getting into. It takes a kinda special, (and sturdy) person to have an overgrown, goofball, dogosaurus that wants to sprawl in your lap like a Chihuahua. Thank you again for helping me to connect with those people.

     We posted on Rescue Me hoping to find a home for our Great Dane. We had gotten him from a shelter and only later discovered he didn't like small children. He had a few health issues including heart worms. We were afraid no one would want him even though he's a sweetheart. A lovely couple offered to rescue him and give him the loving home, we had hoped to find. He went to his new family very easily. I know they will be good to him. I am so thankful to this nice couple for taking him in. He will be happy and he will never be around small children. It is truly a success story for our Great Dane and I am thankful to Rescue Me for helping us find our Great Dane a good home.

     We added Allie to our Great Dane pack and she's wonderful!! When she was first brought over, I knew this was a heart-breaking decision being made. Her parents need to know that she's happy and thriving and loved. She's so full of personality! That big, fat tail is always wagging and those piercing honey-colored eyes are full of excitement. My new Allie always has someone to buddy with around here for whatever she's feeling .. Napping, chasing squirrels, digging holes or cuddling with her new Mama. She's never alone and eagerly learning her new forever home. She loves her big cushy pillow and loves to remind the deer around here that she's watching.      About a year ago, I found this website while looking for a way to find a home for a dog that we were suddenly fostering. This site is definitely seen by people; I think we have had more than 10 inquiries about Ky in the past year. Some I investigated, some I didn't. I have been very particular about where 'my' boy would go. He came from a neglectful/abusive past. I didn't want him going to another one. Of all the people that contacted me, there were four near adoptions. About two months ago, I was contacted by someone that felt 'right'. We exchanged several productive, pleasant emails. Also extremely helpful in this process were two rescues. The first was Mutts n Stuff. Chaunessey from that rescue was helpful beyond measure. She found a lady from a rescue in the area, who has 14 years with a Pit Rescue. She did the interview with the adopter and the in home inspection. She called me with glowing reviews on this family! It will be very difficult to let Ky go, but knowing that he is joining a GREAT family helps a lot. In the adoption contract I made sure that I will receive monthly updates and pictures. It makes me feel better knowing that he will have a wonderful life, which is what he deserves. I can't thank you enough for your help, Rescue Me! Ky will be re-homed within the next few days.

     Because of Rescue Me, we were able to place our great Dane in a much more conducive environment for her conditions! At only two years old, she was diagnosed with Wobblers Disease. We have slippery hardwood floors and lots of steps. After seeing her struggle for months every single day, we came to the hard decision that it was time to find her a loving home with a flat yard and somebody that could be with her on a more consistent basis. After meeting her new mommy and many tears, she is happily enjoying a lot of hugs and love, kisses and snuggles. She is a beautiful soul and it is exactly her life she deserves. Thanks Rescue Me!

     Her name is Lily Dane. She has completely stolen my heart. I am her new family, devoted, delighted and humbled by her love and devotion to me. She is one of the truly great ones. How blessed I am to have found her, fallen in love with her, and to have her love me completely. It is nothing short of a miracle! And, all my other dogs love her. Aw! Thank you, Lord! I wasn't looking, but God sent her as a surprise. She is mothering the little black, three month old pup that survived being thrown in Sandy Creek from the bridge. Him, and her four litter mates sadly did not survive the long drop off the bridge. So far, Lily is teaching him manners and both these unwanted and unloved dogs have filled my life with their sunshine and love. Such joy! Now I have eight loving and delightful dogs. Wow! God is so good!

The couple was kind and loving to Memphis and he was excited to go home with them. The young man had previously owned a great dane, ensuring his knowledge to care for him.      Thank you so much for helping me find a great home for my wonderful dog, Rufus. I inherited Rufus, a 10 month old Great Dane, from someone who used to live with me but was not properly caring for him. When he moved, I stepped in to ensure the dog would be safe. I've cared for him since he came to my home in April, but did not think I was going to have to do that on my own. As he continued to grow, walking him and even being safe around the house quickly became unattainable goals. I was completely distraught at the prospect of losing someone who loved me so unconditionally. When I found his new mom and dad, I knew everything would change for the better. Today, Rufus went to his forever home. He recognized the people immediately and jumped into the dad's lap, kissing him all over the face. I was jealous and happy and relieved all at the same time! My life is now safer, Rufus future is bright with a loving family of three plus another Great Dane playmate and a fenced yard. The family was ecstatic they'd found the perfect dog. I can't thank you enough, Rescue Me!!

     I wrestled with the idea of re-homing my Great Dane, Penny, for over a year. I had her for over three years, since she was three months old. I love her and didn't want to give her up, but I wanted her to have the life she deserved. She is a headstrong girl and needs a lot of attention. About 18 months ago, I started having a lot of mobility problems and couldn't give her the exercise she needed, so I rescued a German Shepherd mix for her to play with. This helped some, but I felt she deserved more. I posted her on the Rescue Me website. Within two weeks, she was adopted by a nice family with time to spend with her and another rescue dog to play with. Within two visits, I knew that this was the right decision for her. I am confident that Penny's new family will love her as much as I do, and give her the exercise and attention that I can't. Thank you Rescue Me for being there for me and all the animals you help find their forever homes.

     Our family member was undergoing cancer treatments, then divorce! Remington was living with the husband on the family farm when an unfortunate accident happened, and the husband was going to have Remington euthanized. Our family member said absolutely not, took Remington, and called on me for help. We tried many, many rescues to take him, but everyone was full and a shelter was never an option. I posted Remington on Rescue Me, and within days got three responses. A very nice man called who had recently adopted a dog who was very active, and needed a friend to romp and play with. Yesterday, the man, his daughter and their pup came to meet Remington. It was love at first sight, and Remington went to his new forever home yesterday! Our family member was sad to let him go, but due to her health issues wasn't able to care for him properly. Thanks to the networking forum of Rescue Me, she knows her heart can rest easy knowing Remington is in the right place.

     Lucy came to our door, starving for food and love. When I found her owner they did not want her and ask me to find her a home or keep her. I already had five dogs, four rescues. What made this a nearly impossible job is that Lucy had been shot in her face and chest, blinding her in her right eye. I had many people ask about her, but when they learned of her blindness, they were not interested. One family came to see her, fell in love and that was her new family. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     My fiance and I recently lost our beautiful girl, Jade. She was a pointer/lab mix and we had decided eventually we wanted another pointer or pointer mix (she had been my second) because they're such amazing dogs. That same week I came across Hunter's picture on Rescue Me. We went to meet him and the rest was history. He has become my shadow. He is such a sweet boy despite his intimidating size. He and our little terrier mix (also a rescue) are thick as thieves. I'm beyond thrilled we found him. We couldn't have asked for a more well mannered, sweet dog.

     After I read the email and checked with our rescue group, I met the lady who picked up both pups. They were not Great Danes, but a sweet brother and sister who looked like Labrador mixes. I took them to our vet and they were given Parvo shots. Both were heartworm negative also. Our rescue group took them home and expected a couple, who wanted two puppies that were from the same litter, would adopt them. They were beautiful and very well behaved. I have adopted a Great Dane from Rescue Me before and she is one of the most loving dogs ever. Thank you for your great work and this website.

     We adopted diesel from loving owners this week. We are keeping in touch with them because this was a hard decision for them and we thank them for our new family member. Diesel is a great puppy. He is learning the ropes well and getting adjusted to having multiple siblings. We love great Danes. We lost our beloved been about two months go to Wobblers disease and our home has not been the same until now. Rescue Me allowed to help a puppy in need and we are grateful and have the knowledge and ability to give Diesel a forever home. We are still looking and will count to refer friends to this site. I thank the people that are out there that are willing to help.

Vinnie, our deaf and visually impaired Great Dane pup, was the first dog we listed on your website. Within the first week we were receiving inquiries about him and he was adopted into a wonderful home with another Great Dane.      Rescue Me was a wonderful experience. We got the call last Friday to let us know that Harley was still available and if we were interested we could come see her. I told the owners that we did not want to come see her, that we wanted her. We drove to her yesterday and brought a new family member home.      I had so much response for help after I posted this dog's call for help on Rescue Me. I was amazed! She was rescued yesterday afternoon and spent the night at a vet who will dip her today to get rid of all the ticks and fleas. Then she is going to her new home with a wonderful lady who will care for her. She lives close by me, so I will be able to go and visit her regularly and can still take her food at times. Thank you Lord for saving this poor old lady! I am so happy.

I've been trying to contact the Great Dane rescue organizations in my area for about two months now to no avail. Stewart did not get along with my one year old son. I'm so so glad I used Rescue Me. Stewart is now in a loving home, and I have a great sense of relief.

     I truly appreciate this site. Due to an unfortunate medical situation, I was not able to keep Jackson. Within a few days, he was given a loving home. He is such a wonderful dog that deserved more than I could give. He now has everything and much more. He is truly missed!      My partner and I finally moved into a home where we are able to have a dog, which as a dog lover is a big thing for me. We saw Bella on Rescue Me! and fell in love instantly. We read that she needed a new home because another dog was bullying her. We decided since we only intend to have one dog, that she would fit perfectly into our lives. She undoubtedly has. Since then we've become regular fosters for stray or lost dogs, and Bella unsurprisingly has been an amazing blessing with this. For a dog who was bullied by dogs, Bella has become a strong pack leader and has helped us rehabilitate a few dogs now. Our lives will never be the same, this giant puppy has completely changed our lives.

     There are obviously things harder than giving a pet away, but not a lot. This was a heartbreaking decision for my wife and I, but it was the right one for our Dane. Rescue Me! made the process as painless as possible. Within the first day we had several calls from adopters and within three days we had a half a dozen families for us and our dog to choose from. Our Dane found a great home, not far from us, where he is doing great. The adopters let us visit him to make sure the transition was easier for our dog. Rescue Me! is a fantastic organization and website that made the adoption process a breeze.

     It has been almost four wonderful months since I adopted Mr. Maslow, a 2 year old harlequin Great Dane. I saw that he and his brother were up for adoption, so I posted both of them on our local Great Dane site, not knowing that I would be one of the lucky adopters. I have two Great Danes and was not looking for another. After some research, I realized he was related to one of my Danes, Gilda! So I contacted Melissa only to find out that he had been adopted. I thought I had waited too long. But, Maslow was returned to Melissa due to separation anxiety and I said, 'Yay, Bring him over!' When they arrived, Maslow ran straight to Gilda and they both ran together out the back door, playing like they knew each other. (I think they did!) He settled in like he owned the place. He tore up a few things out of habit but now is comfortable if I leave the house for a couple of hours. Gilda has never been happier. She was so shy and sad when I adopted her a year prior. Now she can't stop wagging her tail. I had no intentions of having three Great Danes and thought 'what have I done?' But when Mr. Maslow caught me in tears one day he tip-toed over to me, head down, tail wagging and nuzzled my neck. It tickled and I couldn't stop laughing. I realized at that moment, he was meant for me. He runs in the horse pasture, goes to dog parks and sleeps on the bed. I even am working with him to get his Service Dog certification.
