Rescue Me ID: 14-07-26-00217Auggie Rose (female)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

My sweet Auggie Rose needs a new family. She is a 4 year old black Great Dane/ Mastiff mix 118lbs. (DOB 6/13/2010) Her dad is 1/2 Mastiff. She loves children and cats. (Cats do not like her back because she thinks she has to lick them). Our kitty may not like her licking but he still loves her. She likes other dogs but does have food aggression with them. She does happy dances every time she sees me even if I have only been gone for a few minutes. She loves my mom the most. She acts like we are going to Disneyland every time I get her leash out. She loves kids especially special needs kids. She has a sixth sense about them. She is very ... (Read More)protective of children. She freaks out if a kid is being yelled at. She loves to play, she loves her squeaky toys she likes to carry them around and often takes them with her in the car and she loves to show them to people. She thinks she can never get enough belly rubs. She is very spoiled and very loved. She spoils and loves right back. She does not like to be alone and has to be in the same room as the people. If you know of a loving family/person that could love and take care of my Rosebud please let me know. This is the one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I don't know if I will ever stop crying. I can barely type this. I am fighting my second round on pneumonia this year and realize I cannot give Auggie Rose the life she deserves. She saved my life in March. She knew I was going to die so she wouldn't let me go to sleep. She kept butting my head with her face and kept sniffing my breath. She was very agitated. When I realized she was so upset and was not going to let me fall asleep I reluctantly returned to the ER. My SATS were so low the Doctors said that if I had gone to sleep I probably would have never woken up. I must return the favor and give her the best life by giving her to someone who can give her everything, especially time and energy. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-02-00198Lizzy (female)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lizzy came to us when her owner passed away. She is 101 pounds of love and energy and very fun and athletic. She is not good with young kids, older kids are fine. She is OK with small dogs and some larger dogs. She is housebroken, trained, athletic, sweet and very smart. She would be best as a companion animal for an adult or couple. She loves being inside and with you and is very affectionate and bonds easily with her adult companion. We are open to a foster for Lizzy too, just to make sure everything works out OK. She is an awesome, beautiful girl!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in Utah
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Utah if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
