Tucker is an 18 month old pure Great Dane. I rescued him 6 months ago. I did not know he had been abused. He is an extremely sweet boy who was kept in a cage 23+ hrs a day but also was probably abused phy too. The lady I got him from let him out only to potty. I have a crate for him but do not lock him in it ever. He is now potty trained and has had some basic training classes. He has a LOT of anxiety and seems to have depression if yelled at OR believes someone is yelling at him. I don't leave him alone longer than 3 hrs. With his toy chews, he doesn't chew up anything else. I'm having to give him up because the day care he ... (Read More)attends, is closing. My work hours are simply too long for him to be alone. He is up on all his shots. Tucker LOVES all other dogs and gets along well w/them. He likes all people except occasionally growls at African American people. I brought him to my counseling office the first 3 months of having him and he loved the kids. He just got bored and started 'talking/playing', distracting from my work. He is an indoor doggie however loves to go outside and run and play. He sleeps through the night, however does seem to have some nightmares where he whimpers. Those are getting better with time. He needs someone who will not yell at him and will give lots of attention. I know he would love another dog to be around. He is smart and catches on quickly. I don't want to give him up but it would be too mean, knowing he has anxiety, for him to sit at home alone. Axle is a 4 year old Great Dane that I have been fostering for a friend for about a month now. He is great with my 9 year old son and our 3 dogs and 2 cats. He is very well mannered and loves to run and play with our 3 dogs and we have even caught him playing with one of our cats. Axle needs to find a new home ASAP. We would love to keep him but are at our max in space and animals for our city. I am going to be sad to see him go and he will be missed. I can email pictures to those who are interested. He is good with all of the cats and dogs that he has met. Jacob does have a fairly flimsy constitution and will need to be on a prescription diet. Hello, I have a beautiful, sweet Dane or Dane mix named Louie that needs to be re-homed ASAP. I foster for a local county shelter that does not allow adopters to return animals that don't fit in with their family, something I was not aware of when I agreed to foster Louie for them. In just days a lovely young couple adopted Louie, but after a visit to the vet they finally realized he would be to big for their townhouse's HOA rules. The shelter wouldn't take him back so I agreed to foster him and look for a home on my own. Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
