Great Dane Mix    Age: Young Adult

Hello my name is Atticus. I am a 3 year old Dane mix. I weigh 90 pounds and I am full grown. I have pretty much been a stray my whole life. About a year ago I found my way to an abandoned house where 15 other dogs were living. They invited me to become a part of their pack and so I did. Things were great for a while and then 2 other dogs joined us and things changed. They were very mean and took over as pack leaders. They killed 2 of our members and would attack us, me included when they felt it necessary. I noticed one day a group of ladies watching us so I sat back and watched them. The brought these 2 men out and captured our 2 mean ... (Read More)leaders. I was so relieved. They continued to catch us 1 by 1 and well I didn't want to go but 1 day I let them catch me. I am so glad I did because that day my life changed for ever. I was in a rescue. I was in bad shape, skinny, covered in wounds from the attacks, full of worms and terrified of what was about to happen to me. They got me straight to the vet, vaccinated me, neutered me(very traumatic), got rid of all those nasty worms, micro chipped me and got me all fattened up. I was then put into a foster home. I was scared at first, I had never been in a home and there were so many things in there I had never seen and noises I had never heard, it was all so over whelming. I caught on pretty quick and realized this was the life! Ear scratches, belly rubs, food all of the time and even treats. Now I love being a pet, being loved and needed. Now I want my own family to love and need me. I am very laid back, no crate required, I will not destroy your things, I am house broken, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and micro chipped. I am good with other dogs, I just prefer they stick to themselves and mind their own business and I will do I have a fear of other dogs from all of the attacks I suffered, my foster mom calls it ptsd. I am good will bigger kids and I need a home with no cats. I would love to be your best friend and a loyal member of your family so please visit to fill out an adoption application for me. (Less)

Animal ID: 7063BIG BOY (male)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current

This is our senior citizen who is with us for closed to 2 year now. Yes he is a senior citizen, age 9 1/2 years but has very low energy. Some times he thinks he is a pup and plays like a pup. We think he has a good 4-5 years to share his love with a FUR ever home. He do NOT like other male dogs but is wonderful with females. There is a horrible story behind this shy boy, what will be explained if interested. My story in life is horrible. I was living in GA on a farm but was always tied down in a barn. My previous owner was taking to jail and I was all alone without food or water. I couldn't got away because I was tied down. Than in 2013 ... (Read More)a Tornado hit our area and I got so scared. The barn I was in got destroyed and I still was tied down. A good person saw me and took me in. I did got some food and fresh water. I than got transported to a Rescue Group right here in TN. Now this Lady who took me in, took me right in and showed me how life is without being tied down all the time. Yes I hate collars and leashes. I will NOT walk with you if you put a collar on me. I hate collars. I guess is because I always was tied down. I love other animals and play with them as long as I have NO collar on. Find it in your heart to give this beautiful boy a FUR ever home. His adoption fee is 150.00 and an adoption agreement has to be sign. We thank you all in advance. Please Spay/Neuter your animals. Saving one life at a time. (Less)

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
