'A home that understands her breed and has another giant breed buddy for her to hang out with. Notes from her previous owner: Molly is a beautiful ... (Read More)Great Dane, approximately 6 years old. She recently lost her human dad and the family is moving into a much smaller home and cannot keep her. Molly is very loving, gives you a high five when she first comes up to you, enjoys cuddling and being petted. She is great on a leash and does not pull. Molly is very obedient and knows commands such as sit, stay, come, eat, treat, and go to bed. Molly is fearful of new humans that she doesn't know so needs to be introduced properly. Once she gets to know the human, she is loving and attentive. Molly has had issues with one of the smaller dogs in the family that resulted in several dog fights but has gotten along very well with her Rottie (now deceased) and her labradoodle. It is unknown how she would be with young children. Molly would do well with another larger dog and likes to socialize with other dogs. Molly currently takes amitripytlin for anxiety. Her dose is 100 mg 2x per day. At Drs Foster and Smith pharmacy, this runs $1.29 per dosage or $2.50 per day. Please check with your local vet to see what you could purchase this for locally. What is my personality like? Loving once she learns all about you How I act when I first meet new people: Fearful at first but once properly introduced that changes. House trained? In her previous home Molly was house trained My age: birthdate estimated around January of 2011 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. You can also read our adoption tips page for hints and helps on adopting a rescued dog. http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/AdoptionTips.shtml or for general information on Carolina Poodle Rescue, please visit our FAQs - http://www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/FAQGeneral.shtml (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in South Carolina
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
