Hello! My name is Gil and I am a black lab/ great dane mix! I am almost 50lbs but probably won't get too much bigger since I am already a year old.I could definitely put on a little bit of weight to fill out my frame since my foster mom found me alongside of the road. She came to FCHS and as them to help, so we searched and searched for my family, but they weren't to be found. So here I am, ready to find that forever family who won't abandon me! I am already receiving training with my foster mommy. I know sit and also how to wait for my food so I think I have some pretty good manners for such a young man. I am also a quick learner so I am sure the rest of my basic obedience will be quick to follow. I am highly food motivated, so if you have a bag of my favorite treats handy I would be happy to show you what I know and try to pick up a trick or two. I am getting better at walking on a leash as well, so I could be a great walking partner. I live with other dogs and do will with all of them, I am actually very submissive so I would do well in a home with either males or females. I have not been cat tested but I do alright with smaller animals who are caged so I don't think they would be a problem. I also do well with children of all ages, and love when they come to say hi when I am out and about. I am very gentle with them and do not jump up or knock them down. I am not the biggest fan of car rides, but if you needed to take me somewhere I could probably learn to like them if you slip me a few treats. My adoption fee is $200 and includes my microchip. I am also up to date on all my vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention (since I am heartworm negative!), and neutered. If you think that I could be that special boy for you, please fill out an adoption application and put my name at the top! I will be waiting! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-07-13-00439Bella (female)|
Meet Bella Bella is a 3-4 years old Lab/Great Dane mix. She is house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and gets along great with all of my dogs and cats. She loves to play yet she is laid back and a great indoor dog! She is good on a leash and a good car rider. Awesome with kids! A super all around dog! She would make the perfect addition to any family.

Bellamy was abandond with me 2 years ago while I was pet sitting him. He lives with 2 other dogs and loves hiking and car rides. He's house broken and sleeps anywhere you put his bed and only gets on the couch if you let him. He loves my infant son but I fear he is too protective of our family. He has nipped to warn people that he is there and can be unpredictable at times with strangers only. He's great with his own 'pack' of people.

I am a disabled middle aged woman an can not physically care for the dog any longer. He needs to get a vet visit in and have a bath as well. He's had anxiety issues that cause him to defecate and urinate in house but other than that he's a great dog and very very loving.

We have a pit/great dane mix, brendel coloring. Recieved dog after owner died to save him from the pound. We were wanting to keep him but can not afford to live at a place that will allow him in. Very sweet dog, plenty of energy. We wish we could keep him but its not fair to him right now because he doesnt have enough room to run and I am unable to keep him when we move.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-01-16-00077Charley (male)|
Charley came to us as a 3 week old pup. Since he has been almost completely raised by humans, he attaches to his people very strongly. He is house and basic obedience trained, good with all people and even gentle enough to play with tiny pups. Charley is not recommended for homes with a male dog, he is somewhat dominant in personality. Good with all females or pups tested with. Charley is very special and he deserves his happily ever after!

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
