Rescue Me ID: 17-02-21-00414Dora (female)
Dora is a beauty. Her mom is a Great Dane/Siberian Husky mix and daddy is Labrador. She is 10 weeks old and weighing in at about 20 pounds. Her mom is 60 pounds but very emaciated (she should be 80-90). She is mainly black with some white on her snout, chest and legs. She has a gorgeous marking on her neck. Most of the litter have blue eyes, some are just more blue than others. Fenced in yard required. Vet reference or home visit will be conducted before application can be approved. Dora is outgoing, curious, smart and very loving. She is being house trained as we speak and doing well. Now that she is getting older, her Great Dane features in her face are becoming more apparent and her legs are getting long. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-20-00007Moo (male)
Hello my name is Moo and I am looking for my forever home. I am said to be 8-9 months old and a Dalmatian/Great Dane mix and I currently weigh 44 pounds. I am a little skinny right now and my people said I needed to gain some weight so they are working on that by feeding me yummy food. I have had my shots and hw tested (negative). I have an appointment for my neuter and my micro chip for next week. I really don't know what that is but my rescue said I had to go to the doctor to get it. I love to play with my foster brothers and sisters and get along great with everyone. I have not been around kitty cats in my foster home so my rescue does not know about cat status. I love kids and people and my foster mom has taught me how to sit and we are working on howdy now. I am such a loving boy and love to give snuggles too. I am crate trained and house trained as well and looking for my new home. Can you help me find this forever home place where I will never have to worry about being on the streets hungry ever again? Love, Moo (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-09-00002Charleston (male)
Charleston is a 4 year old male great Dane/black lab mix, i've had him for almost all 4 years. This isn't a case of I don't want him or don't love him, if i don't find someone to adopt him i will be forced to leave my home, due to a new landlords rules on pets, charleston is over the new 30 lb limit, it breaks my heart to have to loose him. He loves to go on rides and take naps, he can shake hands and listens to 'sit, lay down, etc'. He is an alpha male when it comes to male dogs he doesn't do well. He would make a good pet for someone who only has small female dogs. He likes to chase cats, and play fetch. Hes low maintenance and likes to have toys to chew on and catch. He weighs approx. 80-100 pounds (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-19-00316Porter (male)
Porter is a Great Dane Lab mix. He is a BIG love bug, very hyper, needs space to run around. I took him from a coworker about a year ago and he is my world and I wish I could give him the space he needs to run free, he is great with kids. Me and my husband have changed work schedules and he is spending most of the time in the house and it is not fair to him. I love him way to much to see him unhappy and not running around. We have a fence but he likes to jump it and run free. I am pregnant and can not run after him as I used to. We live by a busy road so it's not ok for him to be out running around. I would love to find a family that will love him as we do and have the yard to run around and that would send us pictures so I could keep up with him. He means everything to me he's my sweet boy but I know he deserves better and I want to make sure he gets that. (Less)

Animal ID: 157367053Boo (male)
Meet Boo!! Boo is a beautiful five year old black lab/great dane mix. Boo was given a second chance at life when he was rescued from a kill shelter narrowly escaping euthanasia. After some amazing training and tons of love from Jake Humphries at Union Dog Training (uniondogtraining.com) Boo has blossomed into an affectionate, obedient and loyal companion who knows how lucky he is to be alive. Boo is playful with other dogs, enjoys long walks and loves attention. Boo is crate trained, housebroken and walks very well on a leash. Boo is quiet in the house and needs to go to a home with no children or cats. He is approximately 70 lbs., neutered, HW- and current on all vaccinations. If you are able to give Boo a happy and loving home, please call 704-622-8809. I would love to find him a home by Christmas!! (Less)

Animal ID: 16-06-22-00283Blake Shelton (male)
This is Blake Shelton! Unfortunately he does not sing country music but he is super handsome and will lay on the love!!! Blake came to us from a great home who had multiple other dogs and Blake's brother. As in most situations where litter mates are adopted into the same household, they started having problems with the two siblings. We were told Blake is a Great Dane/Pit bull mix. He is now 8months old and ready for his forever home! He is potty trained, leash/off leash trained, gets along great with other dogs, loves children, and wants to do nothing more than love you and get some in return! I do not think he will be super big, but he is almost 45lbs already so I definitely would put him in the 60lbs weight when full grown! He is still very much a puppy, he does like to chew, but is kennel trained, so leaving him with a chew toy or rawhide when you are gone is perfect, although I do believe once he gets past his chewing stage, with training can conquer his need to chew and become a all around house dog. He does not bark excessively in or out of the kennel, and although he loves running and playing with kids and/or other dogs outside, he loves to lounge around indoors also. I'm not going to say he NEEDS a backyard, although they are always nice, Blake has the potential for apartment living with regular dog park visits and exercise! This dog is a PERFECT family dog! He would also do great in a 1 on 1 situation with someone, and continuous socialization! His adoption fee is REDUCED! He came to us neutered and healthy so we have only had to do a little on the vetting side, i.e. heartworm test, and heartworm/flea & tick preventative. If you or anyone you know might be interested in Blake, please call/email/text asap! This guy deserves a life long family of love and joy! Thank you!!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-20-00275Sophia (female)
Sophia is a AKC registered, Merle Great Dane. She is very smart and sweet. She has not been spayed nor has she had a litter of puppies. She has exhibited intra-dog aggression to smaller dogs, but none to dogs of similar size or humans. We have smaller dogs and cats in our home therefore cannot keep Sophia. I will post pictures soon as she is absolutely beautiful.

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
