Stella is a sweet girl who enjoys attention. She loves to play outside with these dogs and enjoys playing with her owners. She is great with large and small dogs. She is an extra large dog.

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-20-00229Oliver (male)
EST DOB: 12/2016 Weight: 75lbs. Oliver is very loving and intelligent Great Dane mix. He's a beautiful boy inside and out. He loves to play and he loves to chew! He will chew up dog beds and just about anything so he needs to have chew toys always available and we would recommend not leaving him unattended at all. He also has separation anxiety so, he would be best with someone who is home a lot. He needs to be crated anytime he is left at home alone. He's extremely cuddly and thinks he's a lap dog. He's super clumsy and goofy. He just kind of flops over anywhere. He's very vocal. He is almost completely housetrained and is crate trained. He loves to play with other dogs but is very strong so we would recommend someone that can physically handle him. He has been good with children but he hasn't been around them a lot. He knows sit lay down shake and heel, and continuing to learn every day. Oliver loves to ride in a car, does well on a leash, and is learning basic commands. We try to limit our travel time for home visits to a two-hour driving range (about 75 miles) from Morganton, NC. Please visit http://www.abetterlifeanimalrescue.com/adopt-a-pet.html for an adoption application. Adoption fee $100.00 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-09-00089Maggie (female)
Maggie is a 2-year-old great dane mix looking for an experienced large breed owner. She needs someone who is at home full-time and can work with her for about 5-6 hours a day on training. She has done wonderful so far, but on the days that training can not be met, she falls behind quickly. Maggie can not have kids around her due to her being unpredictable. Yes, she passed her assessment but if a child has a ball or toy she becomes weary and looks uncomfortable. Maggie also has some potty issues inside the house, but not all the time. Currently, I do have to separate her. I believe because I separate her is the reason she uses the bathroom in the house. I think she will stop this in no time. This past week though, she has done great! Maggie has become overly attached to me, and when dogs or even people are around she will show her teeth at them. When my fianc̩ is with her though, she does great with people and some dogs. I recommend her to be an only dog or maybe 1 other dog in the home. She does well with one of my dogs, but I have 5 and she does not like the rest. She does well with cats, but will try to play and chase them.Has to be a non reactive cat! Maggie is treat motivated and loves working! She has come along way since the first day I met her. She walks great on a leash, will sit to put leash on and off, and sits and waits for her food. She knows sit, lay down, paw, and wait. She loves going outside to roll around and play soccer with her ball. It will be required to have a min. 6ft fence because she can jump something smaller. Depending on the situation, she may be required to go to training, so she can be worked with when meeting new people and dogs. Her background has been rough, and she does have a hard time at first trusting new people. Her adoption fee is $300. Required vet reference, personal reference, must be on heartworm and flea preventative.LOCAL adopters only. There will be an adoption application with a written contract. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-14-00387Logan (male)
Meet Logan! This boy must have an angel on his shoulder. Foster dad found him on the side of the highway as a tiny baby, where he had been tossed out like a piece of garbage. He is now grown into a silly, happy, very loving 10 month old boy. Logan LOVES other dogs, adults and kids, and he LOVES to play. An active home with a fenced yard would be best for this sweet boy.

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-20-00240Delilah (female)
Delilah is a sweet 1 1/2 YO girl came to PAWS as an owner surrender. She is sweet, quiet, loves to please her people and is a joy to be around. Her foster's home is very quiet and she's quiet and likes to play with her toys, chew her bones, and take naps. Delilah loves to go for walks and would make a great hiking partner. She is very fit and is ready to hit the trails with you. Wherever you go she wants to go with you. She rides quietly in the car and is a good co-pilot. She has learned the following commands: 'kennel up' (goes into her crate on command) 'sit', and 'stay'. She is crate trained and will sit and wait when you open the crate door and not come out until you give her permission. Delilah is house trained and will go to the door when she needs to go outside and will sit patently at the door until you tell her to go out. She got along with both her foster's male dogs right away and has gotten along with several other dogs she's lived with previously, both male and female. Would you consider giving this sweet girl a forever home? (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in North Carolina
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
