Rescue Me ID: 14-10-30-00034Mindy (female)
My name is Mindy, I am a 1 1/2 year old Great Dane blend. I am altered/spayed, up to date on all my shots, de wormmed, microchipped, heart worm negative and in great health. I have been professionally trained and have my Puppy, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Obedience certificates, I have my Canine Good Citizens certification and I have my 'Therapy Dog' certification. I LOVE to go to schools, hospitals, rest homes, and other places where a good working dog such as myself can put a smile on someone's face and bring a little joy into a life. I am very lovable, playful, energetic, and have never met an animal or person that I didn't want to call my friend. I am a working dog so I do need plenty of exercise (mental and physical) to keep me happy. I would LOVE to have a job where I am going to schools, hospitals, rest homes, and other places where I can bring a little joy into a life. I would also make an excellent family companion, but it would be a shame to not take advantage of my skill sets and training. I know its hard to believe that I have ended up with a Rescue group - but... My family had some pretty significant changes and felt like they had no choice but to find me a new home where I can use my skills. I am just thankful that I didn't end up at the shelter like so many other dogs do. I weigh about 80 lbs, I am a big girl but not quite as large as a full blooded Great Dane. I'm not sure what other breed I have in me, I don't guess it really matters unless you are a breed snob - and in that case you probably wouldn't be looking for rescue dogs anyway. I am House Trained, Crate Trained and have many commands and tricks that I know. If I do not get enough mental and physical exercise I can get a little destructive, chewing up my crate tray, rope toys, balls, other toys, etc. I am a bit concerned with all the changes in my life and have a little bit of separation anxiety. I was used to being with my human all the time. I am a very special girl and I would LOVE to have a home where I get to spend a lot of time with my people. If you think that you have room in your home and in your heart for a sweet girl like me, Please give Charlene Rollins with For the Love of Dogs Rescue a call at 704-464-9999 or send her an email for an application at FTLOD@RoadRunner.com (Less)

Duchess is a Female black lab mix (Possible Great Dane or something large). Very sweet, great with other dogs, loves people. She was saved last minute from Rowan County Animal Control, and she is not in a foster home with her sister. She would love to find her forever home in time for the holiday season!

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-25-01059Benny (male)
Benny is AMAZING!!! He is a Great Dane/Boxer Mix. He is a really good boy, knows basic commands, & housebroken. Benny needs a home with older kids probably 6+ yrs that can run & play with him. He loves kids but we feel would do best with older ones. He is not overly energetic but of course does have energy as he is still a pup & wants to play but also has a good balance to calm down too.

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-12-00643Sebastian (male)
I search for years to find the right dog but due to unforeseen circumstances I can no longer keep my boy. If you not planning in keeping him indoors do not reply. The ideal home for Sebastian would have a fence yard, a large adult-low energy dog. no small children. *his one year old birthday is in October *he is good with kids but a little clumpy. *he can see from one eye but he needs another dog to be his helper in seem and hearing. *he had a bad reaction to vaccines so only had his first set of Vacs. including rabies. *microchip * 100% crate train, 80% housetrain ****ideal home would stay in touch, I love Sebastian very much.

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
