|Rescue Me ID: 14-07-23-00663Millie (female)|
Millie is a 4 yr old Great Dane mix(small stature at only 50lbs) that was saved from animal control. She had been spayed, chipped, and vaccinated. She is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. She is great with all people and housebroken. This poor girl belonged and was loved at some point. She is looking for forever home. She is a cuddle bug and just wants to be loved. This is from her foster Mom: Millie is such a sweet, loving dog with a huge personality! She loves to play fetch with her toy octopus, or take a long naps at your feet. She is the perfect companion for relaxed walks, as she walks loose leash beside you. She has such a playful, happy demeanor. After each long nap (in which she makes long sighs and little sounds of enjoyment) she wakes up extremely happy to see you, with wagging tail and rolling around on her back while wiggling her legs in the air - it really is something to see! She is extremely smart, and learns very quickly. She knows commands of sit, lie down and no. If you call her to come to you, she will come immediately. She is submissive and will willingly roll onto her back, showing her stomach - which conveniently, she loves to have scratched! She loves to play with children - she tends to do her leg wiggling, back rolling the most when she plays with them, especially if they are throwing her octopus for her. She is perfectly house trained and will always ask to go out when needed - sometimes by giving you a little sound, sometimes she will sit at the door and wait for you. She really loves to sleep in her bed at night, when it is in the same room as you. When she loves her person, she loves them whole heartedly with all she's got! More than anything, that is what she wants, to be loved with all you have got! Millie comes complete with her own brand new accessories! Her collar, lead, harness (for those relaxing walks), her bed, bowls and toys- so no need for any extra expense - oh and some of her favorite food - which does induce a long, hard nap filled with those little sounds and comfortable sigh (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-07-11-00275Lacey (female)|
Lacey was found wandering down the highway when she was just a baby. Hopeless and lost, little did she know it was her lucky day! LACEY is believed to be a Lab Mix. Lacey is a young girl with a little more growing to do (DOB: 08/14/13). She really enjoys being around other dogs, small and large, and all people. She has a loving personality and is very social. She loves to snuggle and she absolutely loves a good belly rub! Lacey is submissive to other dogs, but still loves to play hard. Lacey is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and is being maintained on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She is house trained and crate trained too. Lacey is very affectionate and would make an absolutely wonderful companion! Check out her video! **A fenced in yard is required (no invisible fences). **This dog is currently being fostered as part of Diamonds in the Ruff Canine Rescue. An application is required, along with a home visit and small adoption fee. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. (Less)

I am re-homing my dane due to aggression towards other dogs. He is extremely dominant and territorial despite me having him neutered and trying to introduce other dogs slowly, supervising, etc. He has never had an accident in the house, however he has jumped on walls, chewed up blinds, slobbered a puddle that I've slipped and fell in, and climbed on top of my washer/dryer. He has turned into an outdoor dog as he is out of control when inside. He does do ok in a crate but seems to have some severe separation anxiety when he can't see you (door shut, you're not there, etc.). Do not attempt to walk him without his prong collar or you will be pulled into oncoming traffic. I don't trust him around strangers, especially red headed men for some reason. I think that he would benefit most from a dominant handler, probably a male or an extremely strong and assertive female. Also, due to him being somewhat unpredictable I would strongly advise no children. He is micro-chipped and current on heart worm preventative but I believe he needs all shots updated. I am his second owner and I will be very selective of his third and hopefully his last. I would also like occasional status updates on how he is doing. (Less)

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
