|Rescue Me ID: 14-12-08-00326Merle (male)|
Meet Merle! Merle is a gorgeous 10 to 12 month old blue merle Great Dane mix who is super friendly and playful. He has the look and build of a Great Dane but is much smaller. He currently is underweight but should be between 70 and 75 lbs. Merle is HIGH energy and will need an active family. He would do great in a household with another high energy dog. He is great with all people and other dogs. Merle is currently being taught manners as he does pull on the leash and jumps up on people for attention so he will need someone who has the time and patience to work with him. For this reason, he will need a home without children under the age 8. He would make a wonderful hiking and/or running partner. Merle will require a home with a large fenced yard (no invisible fences). He is crate trained and housetrained. This big goofy pup will make a wonderful companion! |Rescue Me ID: 14-12-03-00481Lurch (male)|
Lurch is a 1 year old Dane/Anatolian mix. He is a big ole snugglebug. He is young and can be somewhat clumsy at times. He loves to run and play but is not overly active, actually he can be quite the couch potato at times. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is house trained, crate trained and working on leash training. He does really good for the most part but does at times get a little excited and with his size he can actually walk you. Adoption Fee $150.00

|Rescue Me ID: 14-11-22-00353Declan (male)|
Declan was pulled from Rowan County AC on his last day. He was pulled with his brother who has since found his FURver home. Now Declan waits patiently for his. He's such a character. He's a fun and incredibly happy boy. He has such a unique look and just the best personality ever to go along with it. Hes great with other dogs, his foster has horses and donkeys and he does well with both. He enjoys long walks and hikes, honestly I'm not sure how he's still available because he's pretty much 100% amazing.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-11-09-00039Zorro (male)|
My name is Zorro, I am a 3 year old Great Dane. I am a sweet boy. I am house trained, crate trained, Up to Date on all my shots, I am altered, Heart Worm Negative, on Flea/Tick/Heart Worm Monthly Preventatives, have been dewormmed, Micro Chipped and am eager to have a loving forever home. Ideally my new family will be familiar with my breed as we are a big responsibility. Besides the amount of food we eat, we require a great deal of exercise and lots of love to keep us healthy and happy. I am a very sweet boy that has my basic obedience skills down. I am however a little upset with all the changes in my life and I am starting to show some little signs of separation anxiety. I will sometimes bark or give a little low growl at some men. I love all the ladies but some men just make me a little uncomfortable. I currently weigh 123 lbs and my doctor says that I should not weigh over 130 lbs. I have been checked over carefully and have NO known health issues. My hips and joints are all in good shape at this time. Do you have enough space in your home and your heart for a big boy like myself? I do love to cuddle on the couch with you and I will certainly try to share your side of the bed if you let me sleep with you. I hope that my forever family are out there and that when they read this - they will know that I am the ONE for them. |Rescue Me ID: 14-11-07-00320Max (male)|
Max is a big, sweet, 9 year old Great Dane mix. He has been living with us for about 6 months and we have loved his company. He is very attentive, obedient and playful. He likes to dance and sing, especially when it is dinner time! We took him in when a family member became too ill to care for him, and were happy to add him to our home. Unfortunately, he has not been around farm animals before, and after an incident with our farmyard family it is no longer possible for us to keep him on. He is very healthy, neutered and up to date on all of his shots. He is very good with people, including children (he lived with a mama and a newborn to 7 year old child). He also does well with our dog and cats. He loves to make new friends, and will roll on the ground and play when other dogs come over. Although he is an older dog, he has lots of energy when he is not napping! Max is a very well trained dog. Good on a leash and responsive to voice commands from friends and strangers alike. He would be a perfect dog for a home without farm animals and a loving friend to anyone who chose to take him in! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-12-00643Sebastian (male)|
I search for years to find the right dog but due to unforeseen circumstances I can no longer keep my boy. If you not planning in keeping him indoors do not reply. The ideal home for Sebastian would have a fence yard, a large adult-low energy dog. no small children. *his one year old birthday is in October *he is good with kids but a little clumpy. *he can see from one eye but he needs another dog to be his helper in seem and hearing. *he had a bad reaction to vaccines so only had his first set of Vacs. including rabies. *microchip * 100% crate train, 80% housetrain ****ideal home would stay in touch, I love Sebastian very much.

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in North Carolina|
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
