Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00322Vador (male)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Vador has an awesome temperment but has never been socialized with other animals other than our other dog that we re-homed (med size). We are re-homing our pets as our current jobs does not allow for the attention they deserve to have. We left Vador at a friends house over the weekend and he did not do well with their dog. EVentually warmed up but showed aggression towards her. He has never been around children or cats so that is unknown. Other than that he has no issues. Housebroken, knows commands and is VERY laid back. He has recently been neutered within the last six months or so. We will keep him until we find a good home for ... (Read More)him. We just want him to have someone who will love him like we do but are home more than we are. We both work full time and are gone most weekends now with our new jobs. He is a big boy approx 160 and stands about waste height. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in New Mexico
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
