|Animal ID: 14-00545Gus (male)|
Meet Gus! He's a very handsome approximately year old Great Dane / German Shepherd mix who currently weighs around 75 pounds. Gus is current with vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. He loves people, but due to his large size and puppy exuberance, we feel he needs a home without small children as he could easily knock a child down during play. He is very smart, attentive and observant. He knows basic obedience commands and with continued training, he will learn so many more. He's crate trained, leash trained and housebroken as well. Gus is good with all dogs, but we don't know about cats. He loves going to the dog park to play and considers himself the official dog park greeter, running up to say hey to all who enter. Gus will also need a tall fenced yard in his new home as he can easily scale a shorter fence if he wants to. This handsome boy is tons of fun. He's sweet, happy, playful and funny with a wonderful personality. Are you looking for a new friend like Gus? Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
