Rescue Me ID: 15-01-08-00640Skywalker (male)
Skywalker is a one year old rescue. Previous to this evening, he has shown some aggression toward adults (growling and a few times of snapping about 4 months ago) so we have been working with a trainer and he was doing well. Tonight though he bit my 9 year old son on the arm (my son sat next to him and did not realize skywalker had a bone in his mouth, he's not shown territory over food items before)~ he bit three times, without puncture but left bruising. I am not able to keep him. I spoke with our trainer and she recommended putting him down, as does another friend who is a trainer. I am hoping there is an alternative. If there is an adult out here who feels they could work with him and could keep him clear of children I would like to have him go to a good home, if not, he will be euthanized by next Tuesday. The thought of having to put him down is terrible, I hope that someone can help. He is black with a bit of white on him, neutered, house broken, knows most commands and will respond well. I was told he is part lab and part great dane. He ate rat poison about 6 months ago so his growth was stunted, he had a blood transfusion and vitamin K, the doctors said he checked out well. He weights about 70 pounds. Walks well on a lead and comes when called or whistled to. PLEASE rescue him! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-05-00149Kira (female)
Kira is a little over a year. House trained but needs to be let out often to potty. She is a sweet girl with a special need. She needs a quiet home that will take her on walks. She has hip dysplasia from trauma to her hip. She needs an operation to help relieve future pain so she can live a long pain free life. I would help raise funds for the person who adopts her to get the help she needs. She runs and plays with the other dogs and is very loving. Won't you consider giving this sweet young girl a home? You can see videos of her playing on my fb page. Here's the link: https://m.facebook.com/katesk9s?ref=bookmark

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-04-00232Zena (female)
Zena's story will break your heart. She was dumped at animal control in the middle of the night and when they opened in the morning she was in the outside parking lot in a crate. It was freezing cold that night. Why would anyone do this to a sweet girl like her. She is around 1 1/2 years old and 62 lbs. She should weight about 75lbs. Zena needs a fenced in yard. She is now at a foster home in Fort Wayne Indiana and she is just so well behaved. She is good with other dogs, and she can be shy when meeting new people. She is a very sweet girl though. Her adoption fee is $150.00

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
