Animal ID: Loki2016Loki (male)

Great Dane    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please visit Loki's Facebook album for additional information and photos. https://www.facebook.com/OEB.GSD.CC/media_set?set=a.10214834716714225.1073741847.1015578617&type=1 ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Loki loves to run and NEEDS a great deal of space to do just that. It may very well be that his previous owner didn't fulfill is Loki's need to run and play. Having been 'free' to run about for several days at a time, Loki now knows what it feels like to stretch those legs. We live on 3 fenced acres, cross-fenced to provide for 1.5 acres on each side of our home. It is essential that Loki have NO LESS than an acre of yard space|fenced. This boy ... (Read More)needs to room to burn energy, chase odors and be a big goof. The yard must have a physical fence (NO invisible fences) no shorter than 4 feet high. If he will not have access to the home from the fenced area, an appropriate shelter must be available where he can rest and drink clean water. By no means will Loki be an outdoor only dog. He must be considered an indoor dog with outdoor access/play time. The ideal adoptive home would include space large enough for Loki to lie down and relax, without being stepped on. An appropriate sized dog crate/kennel and dog beds must also be available to him. Indoor/Outdoor access using a dog door would be a bonus but not required. Loki will thrive in an environment which will stimulate his mind in addition to his body. He doesn't require a lot when it comes to the type of attention, but he has shown progress when given the opportunity to 'think'. We are retired; therefore have a great amount of time to spend with Loki and our other dogs. During Loki's time with us, we have found that he would do best in a home where he isn't left alone for more than 6 hours at a time. It may be different as he matures, but for now, he really does need more human interaction and socialization with the public. He could eventually be a great running partner, hiking buddy and camping friend. We got him in the pool once, but with time he may actually enjoy the water. If given the opportunity, he could very well be great at swimming and enjoy time at the lake. Really, it all comes down to the type of activities one is willing to introduce him. Lastly, Loki needs someone who understands that he WILL lean against you any chance he gets. He may paw or kick you in the legs, face and head if you're not careful. He will give you kisses when you least expect them. It is a big dog, which is not a full adult size yet. He is strong and will continue to increase strength as he matures. One must consider this as having control of Loki is the only way to keep him safe. The link to the online application can be found in Loki's Facebook Album. Thank you. https://www.facebook.com/OEB.GSD.CC/media_set?set=a.10214834716714225.1073741847.1015578617&type=1 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-05-27-00031Charming Charlie (male)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Welcome Charlie to the Farm! Charlie is a gorgeous mantle great Dane found himself at animal control. Save from euthanasia this boy is amazing. We have met a lot of Danes but his personality is beyond perfect. He's sweet he's snuggly he's funny he's an all-around great dog and he's pretty easy on the eyes also. Charlie has been neutered he's up-to-date on all his shots he's housetrained potty trained and gets along with everybody. Due you to neglectful owners Charlie was not given heartworm preventatives. Charlie tested negative at animal control for heartworm for his neuter surgery he tested a light positive we tested of a ... (Read More)third time and he was negative . We want to go forward in treating him for heart worms . If you were interested in adopting Charlie this would require you to foster him before we finalize the adoption through his heartworm treatment. The treatments pretty straightforward antibiotics for a few weeks and injection to follow one week later another injection. He can maintain his normal life we just ask that we don't exacerbate him or do any dog park like activities while he's being treated . Once treatments over he can live a normal life that he deserves! We would like the family to be located in the greater Atlanta Georgia area as his treatment will be administered in Buckhead. Rescue Me ID: 18-05-27-00028Sebastian (male)

Great Dane    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Sebastian is a two-year-old harlequin Dane Who is left at animal control, with a note that his owners could no longer afford to take care of him. He is beyond gorgeous he's a large Dane with a heart of gold and a great personality. Due to not being on heartworm preventative Sebastian is currently heartworm positive. Well the results seem that he is a very light positive we want to proceed with treating him for heart worms as soon as possible . If you were interested in adopting Sebastian we would ask that you foster him first and commit to seeing him thru his treatments. The heart room protocol is fairly easy it consist of ... (Read More)antibiotics for three weeks and then one shot administered at the hospital with an overnight stay and then one week later one more shot with one more overnight stay. He can continue as a normal dog activities a little limited we don't want him sprinting we're going to a dog park. But like most Danes he enjoys hanging out on the couch and playing with his toys. Heartworm is something that is completely curable and one secured as long as preventative are administered there will be no further complications. Sebastian also has what we believe to be a congenital confirmation abnormality and his hind legs. He has no trouble walking everything is in working order he has no pain and you can fully support his weight and can take off running and jumping off furniture and do the stairs. The abnormality doesn't prohibit him from doing anything I think in human terms we would collect bowlegged. We're going to choose a very special family for him as he deserves the best if you were interested in fostering and adopting Sebastian we ask that you're located in the greater Georgia area as he will be treated in Buckhead. Pls go to our website and fill out an online application it is fast and easy link below. http://www.luckyfarmsanimalrescue.org/adoption-foster-application/ (Less)

Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
