Rescue Me ID: 16-04-25-00413Mcguire (male)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey Mcguire! I am so happy you could meet with me today! I must say, you're more handsome than I imagined! M: Oh, geez, thanks! So where are you from? M: I'm from the lone star State but if you ask me, it should be called the lone dog state. Too many purdy pups alone on the streets and shelters. I was one of them! I was much skinnier then and was feeling under the weather so no one saw my charm. I probably wouldn't have made it out unless Sunshine people saw me. They had a volunteer/angel come to the shelter to whisk me away! Sunshine ladies said they knew I would love stompin' around the mountains. Heh, they were right! What is your ... (Read More)ideal day like? M: Well, I wake up, give my foster mom a huge kiss and convince her to snooze the alarm for another snuggle. Next, I would eat a big breakfast, I'm kindof a foodie. Then I would play with my foster siblings (furry) and go for a long walk/run. I'm really athletic so a day full of playing in the yard, hiking, walking/running, going to the dog park, etc would perfect for me! I would also want lots of treats and praise for being such a good boy. What are 1 year goals? M: First things first, I want a family of my own! Foster lady is great but I want a yard and someone committed to loving me FOREVER! I also want to go to school. I am really smart and think I would do well in basic obedience classes. Another goal/dream of mine is to go camping. I haven't done it yet and I think I would be the best camping partner around. What would you tell anyone thinking about adopting their next companion? M: I would tell them to consider me. I have been overlooked for sometime and I don't get it. I am beautiful, just look at my brindle coat. I am sweet, loving, goofy, playful and active. Basically, I'm what any active Coloradan is looking for. Give me a chance! Well, thanks again Mcguire for your time today! We hope that this helps you find your family. If you're interested in adopting Mcguire please email sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com. Thanks! We think he is a Great Dane/ Hound mix. (Less)

Animal ID: 1041Monty (male)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Monty Boxer/American Bulldog Mix Male 9 years old 75 lbs. I'll put it right out there, front and center: I'm a little nervous about this 'finding love online' thing. But I'm going to give it a try - some of my best dog friends have found their lifelong family this way, so maybe it could happen for me too, right? So, about me: I'm Monty, and PawsCo took me in from a local shelter, where my family had left me when they moved and couldn't take me along. I liked having roommates, but after years as a family dog, I got lonely when I didn't have a best friend to snuggle with. Don't let my years fool you - I'm a youngster at heart, and my ... (Read More)favorite pastimes include digging head-and-shoulders through the toy bucket, chasing the tennis ball in the yard, and keeping things running around the house while you're away. I can't wait to find a family who will bring me into the family like one of their own, and we can play and snuggle up till the cows come home. I enjoy long walks on the beach (or, ya know, Rocky Mountain trails will work too!), holding hands, hugs from my humans, learning new tricks, and spending quality time just enjoying each others' company. I guess you could say I'm a romantic at heart. My dog resume: you can trust me alone in the house, with your other dogs, and around all your kickball buddies at the park too. If you've got small kiddos, we'd want to go nice and slow - I'm a patient guy with lots of smooches to give, but I've never had a baby in the house. However, PawsCo says I'm a fast learner and eager to please, so if you help me learn what you expect, I'll knock your socks off with how quick I can remember! Truth is, I'm a big ol' softie and I just need a family who appreciates all 75lbs. of love that I have to offer! One important thing to note is that I have recently undergone one surgery on my knee (I had a torn ligament) and am recovering just wonderfully! In mid- to late-April, I will need to have my opposite knee also operated on to repair a tear in that knee as well. Once that 2nd surgery is completed, I will be all healed and ready to continue my awesome, active life! The nice folks at PawsCo will cover the full cost of my surgery and follow up appointments but I'm looking for a home who can help support me through my recovery period (my awesome vet said that the recovery for my 2nd knee will be about 4-6 weeks and I will just need someone to help me regain my strength, be patient as I heal, and help me do my daily physical therapy exercises at home!) The Adoption Team at PawsCo can fill you in on any additional details/questions. So what do ya' say - are you runnin' short on sugar? I got all the sweetness you can handle, and then some - let's set a date to share a stroll in the park and see if we're a 'love connection!' Rescue Me ID: 16-03-31-00539Hank (male)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

What is it? What it is?! Name's Hank. I was hitch hiking around the Houston and this rad chick picked me up. It was perfect timing because I was about to crash, this guy can only do so much ramblin' around. We went straight to the vet because she noticed the wire stitches under my eye. While we were there the doc tested me for heartworm. Luckily, I don't have those little dudes. Things have been groovy at my foster home. I get along with the other dogs and cats, get as many belly rubs as I want, and I never have to worry about food. I'm a big guy weighing in at 130lbs but I'm all about peace and love. I think everyone should be. Foster ... (Read More)mama says I'm taking a private plane to my new home state, Colorado. Far out! My little friend, Belle, is comin too. We aren't bonded but I thought you wanna know who the cute little thing in that photo is. The only thing I'm not looking forward to in Colorado is getting neutered. But hey, it's a small price to pay for finding the love(s) of my life. I keep daydreamin' about what my home might be like. I'd like to have a big yard, my own XXL bed and unconditional love. It would be stellar if my humans have had a large breed dog before. I would hate to get in trouble for just being myself. If you've been searching for a gentle giant like me, look no further. I promise I'm the smartest, cutest & most loving. Email my rescuers and we can get together! Sunshinecanyondr@gmail.com (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in Colorado
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
