Hi my name is Piper. Im a 2.5 -3 year old female I think Im a mix of Lab/Dane but since I am a rescue nobody is quite sure. I was rescued by DR Doghouse from a homeless couple who would not check into rehab until I was safe. Im a large 80lb female and I love, love, love to play. In fact my favorite game is for my foster to put me in a down stay, they then hide a ball and i try and find it, I could play that all day. I mentioned a down stay...yep Im trained in basic commands, I walk excellent on leash and love to walk, hike and go to the beach, so I hope you do too! Im also crate trained, Im spayed and Im also up to date on all my shots, the ... (Read More)only thing Im missing is my own family. Because of my size older kids is preferred Im ok with other fixed dogs I haven't been cat tested, but because Im a good listener I think i'd be ok. Great Dane Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My sister is looking to re-home her two Great Dane mixes. They are a 6 yr old brother and sister Lady and Buddha. Their dad was a Great Dane/English Mastiff mix, and their mom was a German Shepherd mix. They are roughly the size of a Labrador. Lady is the leaner of the two she weighs 70lbs and has the body shape of a GD (posted separately). Lady is spayed and UTD on shots. She is the alpha of the pair, and in my opinion the smarter of the two. If you leave the bathroom door open while you shower, she might just jump in with you. She will sit facing away from the stream and just let the water hit her back. Despite being 6 yrs old she has the ... (Read More)energy of a puppy. Buddha is the gentler giant of the two (pictured). He takes after his Mastiff side and has a beefier body. He weighs 85 lbs, unaltered but UTD on shots. He is perfectly happy laying down by his owners feet. He has a very calm demeanor. Buddha will not run away if you leave the front door open, but Lady will. They are being re-homed because Lady recently harmed her cat brother. We're not sure if she attacked the cat or was playing too rough with him, but she shook the cat rather forcefully and he required veterinarian care. Fortunately he made a full recovery. Lady has lived with cats her whole life, so we're not sure what provoked the incident. My sister is expecting her first baby in a few months, and she does not want to risk the baby's safety. Also in the last year my sister and brother in law have had a change in work schedule and the dogs are alone most of the day. Both dogs must stay together. Sweet Buddha cannot stand to be away from his sister for long. I tried taking her in but he became very depressed and when I came over for a visit he ran to my car and looked in my windows for his sister. It was very sweet and heartbreaking, so I took they are together again. Now we are looking to for a new home where they can stay together. (Less)

Lady is a 6 year old GD mix. Father was GD/ English mastiff mix and mother was German Shepherd mix. She has not had much training, but she is intelligent and picks things up quick. She must be adopted along with her brother Buddha. Lady is the dominant dog of the pair and is high energy.     Meet Fonzy Bear! This friendly guy is a darling mutt who is most likely a Great Dane/Border Collie cross but...your guess is as good as ours! We are ideally looking to place this giant goofball in a rural area so he has tons of space to run and play. He tends to get overexcited when meeting new dogs-that paired with his size makes him not quite built for dog-park life. That being said, he loves other dogs and with a proper introduction, he does totally fine with most dogs! He loves to romp, play and go on hikes with his doggy pack but ultimately we envision this guy on a large plot of land with a doggy best friend to explore and play ... (Read More)with. He loves people and is all wiggle and cuddles but definitely bonds closely with his humans. When new people enter the home, he does alert but is quick to warm up. He is a smart dog who is food motivated and loves to learn! His current foster mom reports that he is as an easy-going dog in the house and has good manners. He is great at play fetch, has basic commands, is fully house trained and has no issues being left for hours at a time. He is good with children but due to his size/strength, we are looking to place him in a family with kids 12 and older. If you're looking to add a country bumpkin to your home who has a million dollar smile, is addicted to belly rubs and has goof-ball personality, Bear is your boy! He is an awesome copilot and fun to have around. His foster mom said she would keep him in a second if she could!     Gunny - I'm Gunny and my Vet thinks I'm a lab mixed with Great Dane 'cause I'm leggy (not huge). My previous human had to give me up because her living situation changed. I'm 7%BD years young, quiet, LOVE to play fetch and I sleep on the bed with my foster humans. Children and other dogs do not bother me, and I ride well in the car and love to go to the dog park. I'm currently being treated for heartworm, however, I'm otherwise healthy and caught up on shots and vet stuff.     Fill out an application of interest first from our website at www.animalsrule.org - NO OUT OF STATE. Here is another link to his training video: https://youtu.be/3xDsmPaQib8 Zeus the Great Dane is a stunning boy. He was originally bought from a breeder in Texas and came along with his owner to California when she moved. Living in an apt with 2 Great Danes was hard on Zeus, so the painful decision was made to surrender him to rescue so he could find a house with a yard to live and play in. Zeus was born on Nov 23, 2014 and currently weighs 130 lbs. He is very good in the house, a perfect gentleman. He is respectful of your furniture ... (Read More)and personal items and does not chew or destroy anything. He loves to run around and play and loves people. He is big and strong and gorgeous. We had him assessed by a trainer and he is fearful of other dogs. As long as they dont come up on him he is fine, however the dog park or dog beach will not fit into his lifestyle. He has never lived with small children so we would prefer teenagers and older in the home or an all adult home. Zeus is very good on leash and does well in his training class. He LOVES to ride in the car, he is very well behaved. He needs a Dane experienced owner. He can be alot of dog to handle in public but at your home he is a perfect gentleman with A+ manners. Zeus is on Apoquel for allergies, approx $120/month. As we learn more about Zeus, we will update his bio accordingly. (updated 3/4/2017) Zeus is sponsored by: 1. Doug Quinn honoring his Dane Jackson from Animals Rule Rescue, 2. Theron Bobzin honoring the memory of Maura Kelly Gamulin, 3. Dan Halverson honoring the memory of his Great Dane WILMA adopted from Animals Rule Zeus is in foster care and can be seen at the Animals Rule Saturday adoption event from 11am - 3pm at Creative Pet Supply -305 North Harbor Blvd. San Pedro, CA 90731.     http://youtu.be/fWEIa3cEjh8 http://youtu.be/7oBzSy4Fxfw We Are In Search Of A Loving & Suitable Foster Home in OC/Long Beach area. EVERYTHING is provided for Beaumont. APPLICATION & HOME CHECK IS REQUIRED. Beaumont isn't like any other stray we've come across in rescue, his story is an extraordinary one. Like most strays we come across, this little pup suffered the threats of his environment; emaciation, neglect, abuse, and starvation; only the severity of each of these threat was unlike any other. Beaumont, a puppy about 10 months old now, wasn't just discovered roaming around the heat and dry terrain of Tijuana--he was discovered in ... (Read More)practically a heap of skin and bones using the strength he had left to drag himself around with only his two function forelegs. Such a heart wrenching thought to imagine, a man by the name of Walter had not only witnessed this for himself in person, but he had shared the plea to us in hopes of getting help for this pup. Beaumont was not only visibly emaciated, but he had also been infested with ticks and suffered the pain of licking his flesh raw and rotting. We decided to name him Beaumont, which is french for 'Beautiful Mountain' because he is beautiful and he has already shown us he is as invincible as any mountain. Beaumont has gone under bilateral hind legs amputation due to his deformity there was not another option. Since amputation he feels to move independently & freely, a true miracle to witness. Beaumont is also becoming close to be fully potty trained, he has control over his bladder and bowel so diaper is not necessary. We purchased a custom made wheelchair for outdoor walks. Currently we are focusing on helping him with wheel training consistently aside from his training with our trainer Drew Hayes. Beaumont desperately needs a long term foster home until adoption--and yes we do find unique adopters for even our special need dogs which are the majority of our rescued dogs. We strive to get him to a loving foster family who can appreciate a dog with special needs and who view his journey as inspirational. Our rescue will provide all Beaumont's needs and supply while in foster home. We love Beaumont and will do all we can to help him thrive each and every day. PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in California
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
