Rescue Me ID: 18-01-16-00483Rebel (male)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet our GORGEOUS boy Rebel. He is a blue European great dabe. He is completely vetted and trained. He is neutered, utd on all vaccines including rabies and bordatella, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands (sit, shake, still working on stay), he hugs on command and also does a gentlemans hug where he will hug you from a sitting position wrapping his arms around your waist and head on your chest. He is great with cats (grew up in a home with three cats) great with other dogs (he would frequent the dog park with his prior owners and has been great with every dog in rescue) . He ADORES children, and is very attentive ... (Read More)to everyone he meets (the more hands to pet him the better) .. His ONLY fear is the scale at the vets office! He literally will turn into a blob on the floor and will need to be carried with all your strength to plop him into one (he is 136 pounds!) he was surrendered by his owners because they were forced to move into a much smaller space with no yard and knew it was NOT fair to him ... And on top Of that his owners were an elderly couple and he was becoming much to strong for them and simple walks were becoming a task they could barley complete... We have been working on leash training (he still pulls a bit, an does not realize his own strength.. So continued leash training is a must!) his fee is 900.. It covers his vetting (neuter, vaccines, pain Meds, microchip) as well as an ear flush we had done on him and the cost of removal of a fox tail he has embedded down one of his ear canals.. Plus his overall care (we have him on a grain free diet, daily vitamins ) come meet our handsome boy today and be prepared to fall madly In love!!! (Not fond with the elderly as his prior owners did not use the best disciplinary methods and they both were in their 70's) his prior owners LOVED him but could NOT handle his size and once the wife became bed ridden her husband became Rebels sole authority figure and care taker and he was no match for the energy and strength he gave so sadly he used any house item with a long pole (broom, mop, etc.) that he referred to as the stick of death .. yes you read that right.. and that once he would take this 'stick of death' out and have it in sight of Rebel he knew he was talking business.. unfortunately his tactics have led our boy to be very scared and not happy with the elderly.. so we are asking for anyone who inquires to take this into consideration. Rebel is an amazing soul... beautiful inside and out. LOVES people (the mid-younger generation) and ADORES children. He just was taught to fear and not respect the elderly because of his prior experience with them. Share our boy like crazy... we know there is a home out there waiting for him!!! (Less)

Animal ID: DerringerDerringer (male)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Malnourished

Derringer is a 3 yr old great dane, blue and white, ears cropped, male, neutered, vaccinated, chipped. We are currently taking applications for adoption. Derrin will be available to go home in appx 4 to 8 weeks. He was rescued from the shelter in terrible condition and we are currently rehabilitating him but are ready to start the hunt for the perfect family. About derringer... He is shy, and takes a couple days to warm up, but not aggressive because of it. He is a little jumpy, but seems to be less anxious as each day passes. When he leaves he will be leash trained and potty trained. He is great with other dogs, even grumpy ones. He is ... (Read More)good around children. Men make him nervous, again that is less every day. He saw cats in cages and didn't react. He is not a barker, but will bark if he hears strange noises outside/knocking on the door. He was only 103 lbs when he arrived. His ideal body weight is )120. He will be released from vet care at 110-115 and should continue to put on weight slowly over the next 9 months. Adoption will include food, treats, collar, blanket, bones, toy, professiknal geoom, and 3 follow up vet visits with our vet, 3 months apart. He has scarring/scabbing from being kept on concrete without a blanket his entire life. Most of that will be permanent, but is not anything medically wrong, he has had skin scrapings and does not have any mites or mange, and is not contagious in any way to humans or other animals. He is currently on probiotics for his gut, and salmon and cod liver oils to help his skin and coat. He will come with 2 weeks worth of his supplents so that you can continue at home. He is eating high protien, corn free food, and we would prefer that is continued. His adoption fee is $850. He had a very rough first couple of years of his life and we want a comfortable, loving and patient home who will fully appreciate him. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Taz is a GREAT dog. He may be mixed with Great Dane, Pit Bull, lab or Mastiff. He's 5 years old, 80 pounds, housebroken, neutered and he loves his crate. He was pulled from an LA County shelter in October after he was dumped with his sister, where he spent 3 long months waiting for his humans to return :( Taz has been in a foster home since, with his 2 pit bull foster sisters; he loves to relax or stroll the yard with them. He is extremely mellow, very low maintenance. He does tolerate other dogs, but I think he'd prefer to be the only dog, since he's such a relaxed, gentle soul and deserves all the love from his human. He would be a ... (Read More)wonderful companion for a single female, or in a family with children. He seems to really love kids. He takes treats gently and walks great on leash. If you are interested in meeting Taz, please call or email me with questions, and fill out the adoption app for Imagine Peace for Pups Rescue. http://www.jotform.us/form/60136667457159. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Big beautiful REX, a ten-year-old Ridgeback mix (likely with Great Dane), is a sweet boy who was surrendered to South LA shelter when his owners moved and the new landlord said he couldn't come. Do not his age deter you - he full of life! He is also a calm, loving and gentle soul - 100 lbs of pure love. He loves people and almost all dogs - he should not be with small dogs or cats due to his prey drive. Rex knows some commands and enjoys playing with other medium and bog dogs. He walks really well on a leash and aside from not loving skateboarders whizzing by him, Rex is pretty non-reactive - his new foster sister gave him a frosty ... (Read More)welcome, complete with growling and lunging, and he did not bat an eye. He soon won her over and within a hour, they were playing together. When he left the shelter, many of the staff and volunteers came out to say goodbye. He was clearly a staff favorite! (Less)

Great Dane    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Beckham 'Big Boy' He is an absolute sweet gentleman who gets a little excited at times.%A0 His excitement is usually centered around feeding, walks, car rides and baths; things he naturally looks forward to.%A0 He has underlying anxiety with sudden, unexpected noises, shiny floors which he hesitates to walk across, and other aggressive dogs.%A0 He is not an alpha male whatsoever.%A0 He is very passive and has relied on his partner, Bell, to gauge his own responses.%A0 It is because of his companionship with Bell all of his life, that I would prefer an owner who has another friendly dog.%A0 He is great with kiddos and cats.%A0 Very ... (Read More)docile, Home-dwelling, family-oriented and calm in most situations.%A0 He is trained to sit, stay and heel.%A0 He is a great walker and jogger, with streamlined stride and light on his feet.%A0 He does have a wound on his back left heel that hasn't healed completely after surgery in July 2016.%A0 The area doesn't get adequate blood flow and he licks it regularly.%A0 I have tried many sprays, wraps and meds to keep his licking at bay - but to no avail.%A0 He has a big barker bed that is in excellent condition with water proof cover.%A0 He eats Gentle Giant dog food twice a day with chicken broth or chicken added to it when he becomes more finicky.%A0 He is a very emotional boy, who took the first move very hard.%A0 He lost 20lbs during the initial separation from my ex husband.%A0 This handsome 6 year old male Great Dane is in need of a loving home. His owners are moving and cannot take him with them. He can be sensitive to some things, linoleum floors give him trouble. But he was raised with a child and lived with his female Dane companion until her recent death. We are looking for a truly compassionate and loving home for this boy. He is 6 years old. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-03-00308Amy (female)

Great Dane    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

UPDATE! Amy is completely vetted.. spayed, utd on ALL vaccines, microchipped, and we sadly had to amputate her tail.. but she is healing beautifully. Stitches are set to come out after Christmas.. possibly first week of January depending how good she continues to heal. Prayers are ALWAYS welcomed. She is still looking for her forever home, please come meet our amazing gal and show her REAL LOVE DOES EXSIST!!!Please read our beautiful Amy's WHOLE story. She is aprox. 3 years of age, will be completely vetted this coming week (spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and will have her tail which has a few sores on it evaluated.... we are hoping we ... (Read More)are able to treat without amputation so prayers are welcomed)... She FINALLY came to us about a month ago now.. and when I say FINALLY.... I mean after almost 2 years! Her family bred her (three times that I know of) in the time I have been involved in this girls life... they were doing spot/spot breeding and producing deaf/blind puppies but in their eyes there was still money to be made as her babies were BEAUTIFUL and aside from the issues at hand they knew they could make money off of them... a sad reality we face too often with backyard breeders. She was kept in a make shift side yard filled with whatever scraps and plywood they could find which in their eyes provided the shelter she needed, as well as her puppies. We helped each litter with the 'unadoptables' or the 'left over' puppies because they didn't want anything to do with the after care.. if they weren't making them money they were of no use there. EVERY puppy we took in was FULL of a parasite Giardia that as it would prove to NEVER fail would take two full treatments to clear EVERY litter EVERY time... This came from drinking dirty water..sadly they couldn't even provide something as basic as clean water. We begged everytime to let us take mom, and EVERYTIME it was the same response... NO. They promised to spay her. They NEVER did.... but in the end she FINALLY made her way to us... after years of praying and hanging on to hope her family FINALLY gave her up. She is a BEAUTIFUL soul.. eager yet scared to love. we believe she was taunted by the young boys in the home, so we are looking for a family with NO SMALL CHILDREN. Although she has been GREAT with my daughters.. the presence of my boys give her anxiety. She is GREAT with women, yet a bit fearful of men. (she loves my husband and can love anothers husband as well if given time and love and patience) She needs a home where she can finally be at peace, where she can be loved and simply love in return. she NEEDS her forever after.... so please if you think you can offer our beautiful girl the life she deserves please please email us. she is worth taking a chance on, and worth your love!     Meet Fonzy Bear! This friendly guy is a darling mutt who is most likely a Great Dane/Border Collie cross but...your guess is as good as ours! We are ideally looking to place this giant goofball in a rural area so he has tons of space to run and play. He tends to get overexcited when meeting new dogs-that paired with his size makes him not quite built for dog-park life. He loves to romp, play and go on hikes with his doggy pack but ultimately we envision this guy on a large plot of land with a doggy best friend to explore and play ... (Read More)with. He loves people and is all wiggle and cuddles but definitely bonds closely with his humans. When new people enter the home, he does alert but is quick to warm up. He is a smart dog who is food motivated and loves to learn! His current foster mom reports that he is as an easy-going dog in the house and has good manners. He is great at play fetch, has basic commands, is fully house trained and has no issues being left for hours at a time. He is good with children but due to his size/strength, we are looking to place him in a family with kids 12 and older. If you're looking to add a country bumpkin to your home who has a million dollar smile, is addicted to belly rubs and has goof-ball personality, Bear is your boy! He is an awesome copilot and fun to have around. His foster mom said she would keep him in a second if she could! He is adoptable through the Milo Foundation in Point Richmond. www.milofoundation.org (Less)

Here is another link to his training video: https://youtu.be/3xDsmPaQib8 Here is another link to his training video: https://youtu.be/3xDsmPaQib8 Zeus the Great Dane is a stunning boy. He was originally bought from a breeder in Texas and came along with his owner to California when she moved. Living in an apt with 2 Great Danes was hard on Zeus, so the painful decision was made to surrender him to rescue so he could find a house with a yard to live and play in. Zeus was born on Nov 23, 2014 and currently weighs 135 lbs. He is used ... (Read More)to being a house dog. He has never lived in the yard. He loves to run around and play and loves people. He is big and strong and gorgeous. We had him assessed by a trainer and he is fearful of other dogs. He would be best placed as an only dog, so the dog park or dog beach will not fit into his lifestyle. He has never lived with small children so we would prefer teenagers or an all adult home. Zeus is very good on leash and does well in his training class. He LOVES to ride in the car. Zeus needs a Dane experienced owner. He is alot of dog at 135lbs. Zeus is on Apoquel for allergies, approx $120/month during the summer months. As we learn more about Zeus, we will update his bio accordingly. (updated 11/26/2017) Zeus is in foster care and can be seen at the Animals Rule Saturday adoption event from 11am - 3pm at Creative Pet Supply -305 North Harbor Blvd. San Pedro, CA 90731. Please, do not call the Pet Supply Store. For a rapid response please contact us via e-mail at: info@animalsrule.org Zeus - Male, Great Dane, DOB 11/23/2014, neutered, 135lbs, current on all vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, housebroken, kids 12 and over due to large size, not cat safe, best as an only dog, Dane experienced owner (Less)

http://youtu.be/fWEIa3cEjh8 http://youtu.be/7oBzSy4Fxfw We Are In Search Of A Loving & Suitable Foster Home in OC/Long Beach area. EVERYTHING is provided for Beaumont. APPLICATION & HOME CHECK IS REQUIRED. Beaumont isn't like any other stray we've come across in rescue, his story is an extraordinary one. Like most strays we come across, this little pup suffered the threats of his environment; emaciation, neglect, abuse, and starvation; only the severity of each of these threat was unlike any other. Beaumont, a puppy about 10 months old now, wasn't just discovered roaming around the heat and dry terrain of Tijuana--he was discovered in ... (Read More)practically a heap of skin and bones using the strength he had left to drag himself around with only his two function forelegs. Such a heart wrenching thought to imagine, a man by the name of Walter had not only witnessed this for himself in person, but he had shared the plea to us in hopes of getting help for this pup. Beaumont was not only visibly emaciated, but he had also been infested with ticks and suffered the pain of licking his flesh raw and rotting. We decided to name him Beaumont, which is french for 'Beautiful Mountain' because he is beautiful and he has already shown us he is as invincible as any mountain. Beaumont has gone under bilateral hind legs amputation due to his deformity there was not another option. Since amputation he feels to move independently & freely, a true miracle to witness. Beaumont is also becoming close to be fully potty trained, he has control over his bladder and bowel so diaper is not necessary. We purchased a custom made wheelchair for outdoor walks. Currently we are focusing on helping him with wheel training consistently aside from his training with our trainer Drew Hayes. Beaumont desperately needs a long term foster home until adoption--and yes we do find unique adopters for even our special need dogs which are the majority of our rescued dogs. We strive to get him to a loving foster family who can appreciate a dog with special needs and who view his journey as inspirational. Our rescue will provide all Beaumont's needs and supply while in foster home. We love Beaumont and will do all we can to help him thrive each and every day. Before and After photos available upon request. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in California
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
