Rescue Me ID: 17-08-12-00119Bo (male)

Great Dane Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Bo is a very sweet and loving dog! He loves kids, we just say no kids because he is rough. We got Bo about a year ago due to his family couldn't keep him because their neighbor had sheep and he was trying to bother the sheep. We have a male Boxer mix and Bo has been acting very aggressive towards him. He doesn't bother any of the other dogs, he just shows aggression towards that one and for that reason we can't keep him. He would be great in a home with no oher dogs and a yard where he has a lot of room to run. He's very submissive to male owners especially!

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-13-00303Grace (female)

Great Dane    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Grace is an amazing dog. She is 6 years old and my ex fiance and I adopted her when she was 5 weeks old. She has been spoiled since we had her (had her own bedroom with a queen size bed, and has 2 dog beds), always an only dog. She does okay with dogs at doggie daycare and when being boarded as well as at dog parks, however she does not like dogs who come into her domain. She does not do well with people other than myself, my ex, one of my best girl friends, and my parents inside our home. She is fine with women outside of the house as long as she is able to approach them and they DO NOT reach out to her. She takes a bit of time to warm up ... (Read More)to strangers when I am around her. She has become protective with her old age. I love her to death but my ex and I have seperated and he no longer wants her and I have moved into a 600 square foot apartment while I attend graduate school for 3 years. She does not get the attention or exercise she needs and she deserves to enjoy her life. IF interested, please contact me. She is an indoor dog and would not do okay being an outside door. She does not have experience around children and I would not recommend her being around children/teens and she does not realize her size. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Great Dane in Alabama
Great Dane Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The Great Dane is an enormous, but extremely gentle breed often referred to as the Gentle Giant. Great Danes are kind, loyal, and sociable. They need to be around people. Great Danes are gentle, devoted, and wonderful with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of their large size. Great Danes should be well trained as puppies. Great Danes can live in an apartment with enough daily exercise but do best with a large yard.
